Dr. Jioni Lewis is an Associate Professor of Counseling Psychology at the University of Maryland, College Park. Her research is focused on investigating the influence of discrimination on the mental and physical health of people of color, with a specific focus on the intersection of racism and sexism on Black women鈥檚 health and well-being. Dr. Lewis developed the Gendered Racial Microaggressions Scale, which is a self-report instrument to measure subtle gendered racism. She also examines protective factors that buffer individuals against the negative effects of gendered racism, such as gendered racial identity, coping strategies, and radical healing. Dr. Lewis has received several national awards for her research and scholarship from the American Psychological Association (APA), including the 2019 Emerging Professional Contributions to Research Award from the Society for the Psychological Study of Culture, Ethnicity, and Race (APA, Division 45), the 2020 Best in Science Award from the Society of Counseling Psychology (APA Division 17), and the 2020 Emerging Leader for Women in Psychology Award from the Committee on Women in Psychology. She is also the current President of the Psychology of Black Women, Section 1 of the Society for the Psychology of Women (APA Division 35).

President and CEO Wendy Rheault, PT, PhD, FASAHP, FNAP, who stepped into her new role on July 1, 2019, has served the university in numerous faculty and administrative capacities for nearly 40 years. Named the first provost of the institution in 2014, she spent the next four years working closely with the president, deans and vice presidents in developing academic priorities, providing strategic direction and ensuring academic accountability.

Ms. Franklin currently聽serves as Vice Chair on both the Governance and聽Institutional Advancement committees of the Board.

A musician and harpist, she co-founded the California Symphony, an award-winning orchestra聽based in the Bay Area. Ms. Franklin has held multiple roles and positions in the not-for-profit and聽corporate space, including president of the Jewish Community Relations Council, a Bay Area聽non-profit social justice agency, in addition to her role as senior director of leadership聽development for the Jewish Community Federation of the San Francisco Bay Area. She is聽currently serving as President of the International Coaching Federation鈥檚 Bay Area Chapter.
